CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Dear Friends,

Amid growing resistance in the streets and in popular culture, the Boston Socialist Unity Project is organizing our third annual conference, at MIT on March 17, 2018. We seek workshops on: how to strengthen our movements; deepen our understanding; increase collaboration; and build independent power. The conference workshops offer opportunities for in-depth conversations, cross-organization networking, and sharing organizing skills. Substantive topics include local government and lobbying, anti-war activism, base building, incarceration and prison reform, LGBTQ rights, gentrification, deportation, opposing white supremacy and racism, the labor movement, student and youth organizing, and much more.

Activists and progressive activist organizations are encouraged to submit workshop proposals that engage their participants. The conference includes up to 12 workshops (2 sessions of 6 simultaneous workshops), with each workshop lasting 80 minutes. To ensure the strongest possible workshops, BSUP encourages proposals that involve collaboration between two or more organizations; where similar or overlapping proposals are submitted, BSUP will put the proponents in touch with one another and help facilitate cooperation.

The deadline for submissions is February 10, 2018.

Sincerely,
The BSUP Organizing Committee
