PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Parking is limited and regulations are aggressively enforced, so visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.
Boston's public transportation, is the MBTA  (“The T”):

Take the Red Line from Alewife Station in Cambridge, or from
Park Street Station in Boston, to the Kendall/MIT Station, which is within walking distance of MIT.

To access to the Red Line subway, there is a parking garage at the Alewife Station (located at the intersection of Routes 2 and 16, at the Cambridge/Arlington town line) .
.
There is regular MBTA bus (#1) service along Massachusetts Avenue from MIT to Boston and Harvard Square.
